It's pretty obvious the climate crisis is affecting us. All around the planet, millions of people are suffering from droughts, Heat waves and so on. Lucky for us, we don't have to wait around for major companies and the government to do something about us. We can all help save the planet, and we can do that without major changes to our lifestyles. If people all around the world, like us, began to make small changes to fight climate change, we could do wonders the planet.
The Changes:
There are actually very simple things you can do to help the cause. You won't have to give anything up, or change up your daily plans. All you'll need to do it try doing these thing more often from day to day.
1. Walking & Biking
Instead of using a car to get from place to place, try other things like walking and biking instead. Not using cars as much reduces the fossil fuels emitted by up to 10% by 2050. Taking A cars does help you get there faster, but try other methods when you're going somewhere close by.
2. Waste less food
We waste a lot of the food we eat, don't we? Sometimes that banana doesn't seem to appetizing now that it's kind of mushy, and those left-overs from two nights ago don't look that great anymore. Honestly, I'm just as guilty of this as you probably are; but it's important to realize that we should try to break this habit. After all, Project Drawdown estimates that "curbing food waste could avoid a whopping 70.5 gigatons of CO2—that’s a bigger impact than restoring 435 million acres of tropical forest."
3. Switching to LED light bulbs
So, what does changing the light bulbs you use make any difference when it comes to fighting global warming? It still uses the same amount of energy, doesn't it? Well you'd be surprised! LED lightbulbs use around 75% less energy than normal lightbulbs, and even last 25 times as long as normal lightbulbs.
There are many more ways to fight climate change other than these three, but the main idea is to save our planet without having to give up (SOOO much). Its our duty as guests on this Earth to protect it. Hopefully, we can do just that.
